Strong Hitting Not Enough As Rays – NS Majors Spring Falls To NSLL Majors Mets

Even though Rays – NS Majors Spring collected nine hits to NSLL Majors Mets’s four, they still fell 12-7 on Saturday at North Shore – Double Day Field. Michael V and Karl B each collected two hits for Rays – NS Majors Spring.

NSLL Majors Mets got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ryan V drew a walk, scoring one run, Gio Z singled, scoring two runs, and a steal of home scored two runs.

NSLL Majors Mets added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Mallack W singled down the left field line, Rays – NS Majors Spring committed an error, Rays – NS Majors Spring dropped a third strike, Gavin Q tripled down the left field line, and Gavin Q stole home, each scoring one run.

Michael V stepped on the hill first for Rays – NS Majors Spring. The starter gave up one hit and five runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out three and walking four. Myles K took the loss for Rays – NS Majors Spring. The reliever went one and one-third innings, surrendering five runs (zero earned) on two hits, striking out four and walking none.
