Philomena Dance Recital 2026

Today was Philomena’s annual dance recital. She performed in four routines and even filled in as a student teacher for one routine for the younger dancers. We are so so proud of our girl. She always makes it look so easy and natural.

Ever since the first one that she ever had with Vic D’Amour in Dix Hills. I remember that dance recital and sitting next to Mom and looking at her and she looking back at me, both of us surprised and joyful at what we were seeing on stage. We had no idea what was going on at that dance studio until that night. Of course back then was a little different. Nowadays you do your routines for anyone who will watch repeatedly and we love it though it may drive us crazy sometimes, watching you dance around instead of doing your chores. Tonight we saw such progress, such grace, such acumen on the stage and it was such a feeling of pride and joy for both of us. Sweetheart, we know you are good but tonight you were great. We know it comes from your heart and your passion for the art of dancing.

At the beginning of the show the head of the school, during her introduction, specifically called Philomena out and thanked her for stepping in to be the student teacher. We are so proud of you Philomena. Bravo bravo!
