Philomena had her first surgery this morning.\u00a0 Mommy accompanied her, (they only allow one parent in) into the operating room at 7:05 am and the procedure started at 8:00 am.\u00a0 By 8:40 am, Dr. Goldstein came out and told us that everything had gone well.\u00a0 It was a rough day for all of us, but we seem to have gotten through it.\u00a0 Philomena is still groggy but seems to be her usual self underneath.\u00a0 She woke up pretty rough from the anesthesia, and it was incredibly difficult to see her so inconsolable, but Mommy, as usual, was able to make us both feel better.<\/p>\n

The nurses are probably talking about us.\u00a0 Daddy probably used as many tissues for himself as he did for Philomena!\u00a0 Philomena has cousins that have been through SO much more complicated and risky procedures, and we have absolutely no idea how her Aunts and Uncles ever got through it and never want to find out.<\/p>\n

We are just both so thankful and relieved to have our little girl back home, safe and sound.<\/p>\n
