John Gianutsos’ RBI Single Ignites Giants’ Fourth-Inning Rally

NS Giants 11U battled hard but fell 16-6 to Pat Med Raiders 11U on Friday at Moriches 2. From the first inning to the final out this was a game of momentum swings, with plenty of hustle on both sides.

Pat Med Raiders 11U jumped on the board in the bottom of the first when Brennan G homered to right and the Giants committed an error, putting two runs on the board for the Raiders.

The Raiders tacked on five runs in the bottom of the second on three hits — Joshua P’s two-run homer to right, Liam J’s groundout that scored a run, and another long ball from Brennan G that cleared the fence for two more.

Pat Med added five more in the bottom of the third. Antonio P’s single produced a run, a daring steal of home added another, Cameron V’s double drove in two, and Shea C’s single added the fifth run of the frame.

Antonio P answered for Pat Med, tossing 1 2/3 innings of one-run ball with three strikeouts and three walks allowed.

Dylan M provided pop in the middle of the Giants lineup, finishing with two RBIs and a 1-for-1 day at the plate. John Gianutsos contributed a key RBI single and finished with one hit, one of three hits for the Giants (the others coming from Dylan M and Giovanni A). Jake K showed great patience, drawing two walks as the team totaled six walks on the day.
