Big Second Inning Leads NHP 9U Past NS Giants Mejia 9U

NHP 9U scored nine runs in the second inning, which helped them defeat NS Giants Mejia 9U 15-1 on Sunday at Moriches Athletic.

NHP 9U were the first to get on the board in the first when John R scored after tagging up.

NHP 9U added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Colton W walked, NS Giants Mejia 9U committed an error, Brayden L walked, John R singled down the left field line, Ryder S singled to center field, Harry S grounded out, Josh C singled to center field, Cameron T singled down the left field line, and Evan M grounded out, each scoring one run.

NHP 9U added to their early lead in the top of the third inning when Warren M singled, scoring one run, Ryder S tripled, scoring two runs, and Harry S grounded out, scoring one run.

Dylan J stepped on the hill first for NS Giants Mejia 9U. The pitcher allowed nine hits and 14 runs (five earned) over three innings, striking out two and walking five. Evan M led things off on the bump for NHP 9U. The starter gave up one hit and one run over three innings, striking out three and walking four.

Leo B and PJ (Philip) R were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for NS Giants Mejia 9U.

Ryder S and Cameron T each collected two hits for NHP 9U. Ryder S led NHP 9U with four runs batted in. The right fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. NHP 9U had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Colton W and Brayden L led the team with two bases on balls each. NHP 9U didn’t commit a single error in the field. Harry S had the most chances in the field with four.
