Two-RBI Spark from John G Lifts Top Tier Aviators 12U to 7-2 Win Over Team Steel MVP Black 12U

Top Tier Aviators 12U seized a 7-2 win over Team Steel MVP Black 12U on Wednesday, fueled by a decisive third-inning rally and a locked-in day at the plate from John G.

Team Steel MVP Black 12U struck first in the opening frame when Brody P singled to bring a run across. The Aviators answered immediately in the bottom half: after a gritty six-pitch at-bat, Shea C punched a single down the right-field line to even the score at 1-1.

In the top of the third, Jacob V singled to nudge Team Steel MVP Black 12U back in front, 2-1. That lead didn’t last. The Aviators erupted in the bottom of the inning—ignited by clutch swings from John G and Morgan B—to storm ahead, 5-2.

On the mound, Tommy E earned the win for Top Tier Aviators 12U, working three innings while allowing five hits and two runs, striking out four and walking three. Jameson K and Mateo T followed in relief and slammed the door with scoreless work the rest of the way. For Team Steel MVP Black 12U, AJ G started and went one inning (one run, one hit, one strikeout, one walk), while Jacob V took the loss after one-third of an inning (four runs, two hits, one strikeout, two walks).

The offense flowed through the middle of the Aviators’ order: Morgan B and John G each drove in two runs, with John G setting the pace at the plate by going a perfect 2-for-2 to lead the team in hits.

Top Tier Aviators 12U put pressure on the bases all game, swiping six in total. Shea C and Mateo T each notched multiple steals. The defense backed the pitching with a clean sheet—no errors—and turned a key double play. Matthew G was a magnet with the glove, handling a team-high 10 chances.

For Team Steel MVP Black 12U, Robert S, Colby G, Brody P, Jack H, Kayden D, Jacob V, and Michael K each collected a hit, with RBIs from Brody P and Jacob V. Robert S added two steals.
