NS Giants Mejia 8U’s effort to come back from down six runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 6-4 to NS Giants Sanfilippo 8U on Saturday at ESM 2. NS Giants Mejia 8U closed the gap by scoring on a single and a double.

NS Giants Sanfilippo 8U jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after James M singled, scoring two runs, Bryce A singled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored one run.

NS Giants Sanfilippo 8U added one run in the third. Dylan D grounded out, making the score 5-0.

Jordan Z began the game for NS Giants Mejia 8U. They surrendered five hits and five runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking three. Matthew M started the game for NS Giants Sanfilippo 8U. The starting pitcher gave up zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking two.

Phillip (PJ) R drove in five runs on two hits to lead NS Giants Mejia 8U past Longwood Lions 8U 18-8 on Monday at DIP 2. Phillip (PJ) R hit an inside the park grand slam in the fourth inning, scoring four runs, and singled in the third inning, scoring one.

NS Giants Mejia 8U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Jameson S singled, scoring two runs, Chase P singled, scoring one run, Myles H drew a walk, scoring one run, and Frankie G singled, scoring two runs.

A walk by Jameson S extended the NS Giants Mejia 8U lead to 7-0 in the top of the second inning.

NS Giants Mejia 8U added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Dylan W singled, Donovan L grounded out, Phillip (PJ) R singled, and Thomas W walked, each scoring one run.

Longwood Lions 8U scored six runs on four hits in the bottom of the third inning. Jayson A hit an inside the park grand slam, and Asa F tripled, scoring two runs.

NS Giants Mejia 8U scored six runs on two hits in the top of the fourth inning. Phillip (PJ) R hit an inside the park grand slam, and Myles H singled, scoring two runs.

Dylan W started on the mound for NS Giants Mejia 8U. They gave up two hits and one run over two innings, striking out five and walking three. Matthew B stepped on the bump first for Longwood Lions 8U. They surrendered four hits and six runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking four. Landon W appeared in relief for NS Giants Mejia 8U.

NS Giants Mejia 8U accumulated 11 hits in the game. Frankie G, Myles H, Phillip (PJ) R, and Dylan W each collected two hits for NS Giants Mejia 8U.
