Adenoidectomy and Ear Tubes

Philomena had her first surgery this morning.  Mommy accompanied her, (they only allow one parent in) into the operating room at 7:05 am and the procedure started at 8:00 am.  By 8:40 am, Dr. Goldstein came out and told us that everything had gone well.  It was a rough day for all of us, but we seem to have gotten through it.  Philomena is still groggy but seems to be her usual self underneath.  She woke up pretty rough from the anesthesia, and it was incredibly difficult to see her so inconsolable, but Mommy, as usual, was able to make us both feel better.

The nurses are probably talking about us.  Daddy probably used as many tissues for himself as he did for Philomena!  Philomena has cousins that have been through SO much more complicated and risky procedures, and we have absolutely no idea how her Aunts and Uncles ever got through it and never want to find out.

We are just both so thankful and relieved to have our little girl back home, safe and sound.

    Hi Gerry and Kristi,
I can’t believe how out of touch I am. Philly had surgery!!! Thank God it went well. She looks so peaceful in the recovery room and of course, adorable in the other pictures. I miss you guys. Where are you on this planet? Sunnyside, Nantucket or somewhere else. Would love to see you all.
    Love,
    Eileen

    Hi Gerry & Kristi,

Like Eileen, I had no idea that your daughter had surgery. Sounds like it went well. Hoping that her ear canals are stabilizing and the tubes falling out on their own. I see that she is happy & adorable. Of course! Happy almost 2nd birthday! Wow–when did that happen!

    best regards,
    Randi & Jonah
